What is the signup process? How do I enroll?
I really want you to be successful and to get what you need. We will schedule an one-time intake session where we will meet for 45-50 minutes to discuss your individual needs, struggles, and if you will meet diagnostic criteria for me to be able to bill your insurance.
Do I need to be in therapy for this to help? Is this Comprehensive DBT?
No and no!
DBT Skills Classes are educational classes, talking about how to navigate emotions and situations where emotions might take control. This is one component of Comprehensive DBT, but this is not a comprehensive DBT program. Learn more about DBT here.
This class will help you learn mindfulness skills, skills to tolerate difficult situations, skills to identify and change emotions, and skills to navigate interpersonal relationships.
Please note, there is NO discussion of self-injurious behavior, and is NOT a suicide prevention plan.
Can I use insurance for this class?
Yes! We will have an initial intake session where I will screen to see if you meet criteria for a diagnosis that will allow me to bill your insurance.
What computer platforms will we use?
We will use secure Zoom meetings for the class.
How do I pay?
Payments will be made through Simple Practice; once we get you signed up you will have an account created that gives you that option!
